Americans Olivia Fiechter, Andrew Douglas, Sabrina Sobhy and Olivia Blatchford Clyne all recorded first-round victories—three of which were the day’s most dramatic upsets—Saturday, October 5, at Drexel University and Racquet Club of Philadelphia.
Fiechter, Douglas and Sobhy's results all marked their respective career-first wins at the U.S. Open--all of which took place against higher-ranked opposition.

The 2019 FS Investments U.S. Open Squash Championships started up today at Drexel University in Philadelphia. All the excitement kicked off with its classic first-ball ceremony. This year’s honorary representatives were FS Investment's Vincent Amatulli and SquashSmarts' Nabilla Ariffin.

The U.S. Open is the first of eight PSA Platinum events of the 2019-2020 PSA World Tour season. After becoming the first major event to offer prize money parity in 2013, the U.S. Open will offer equal prize money for a seventh straight year with a record $371,000 split evenly between the forty-eight-player men's and women's draws.
