U.S. Open Two Weeks Away!

Two weeks from today, Thursday, October 5, qualifying for the 2017 U.S. Open presented by Macquarie Investment Management kicks off.

The world’s best squash players are set to descend on Philadelphia for the seventh consecutive year at Drexel University’s Daskalakis Athletic Center (DAC), October 5-14. Here is what you need to know.

For information on how to get to Drexel by car, SEPTA regional rail or SEPTA subways and trolleys, and for parking information, visit the getting there and around page.

Two qualifying rounds take place October 5-6 at Racquet Club of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Cricket Club, Merion Cricket Club and Drexel’s DAC. Qualifying matches at the DAC’s Kline & Specter Court 1 are free admission and open to the public.

The first round of the men’s and women’s main draw take place October 7-8, on both the ASB GlassCourt in Drexel’s basketball arena and on the DAC’s Kline & Specter Court 1. Fans must use the north entrance to enter the ASB GlassCourt arena and go through ticketing.

All matches will take place on the ASB GlassCourt from the round of sixteen through the finals, October 9-14. Last year, the semifinals and finals sessions completely sold out and tickets for all rounds are selling quickly, so purchase yours today on www.usopensquash.com/tickets.

This year,  Doubles Day (Oct 7) and the world’s first Squash Film Festival (Oct 8) make their debuts.

The pros won’t be the only squash players in action during the U.S. Open, as top college players compete in the U.S. Intercollegiate Squash Doubles Championships (Oct 7-8), top U.S. juniors compete in the Arlen Specter Pennsylvania Junior Championships (Oct 7-9) and U.S. amateurs in the U.S. Skill Level Championships (Oct 14-15).
