U.S. Open announces major title sponsor for 2012/2013

U.S. SQUASH has announced that Delaware Investments, a global asset manager and member of Macquarie Group, will be the title sponsor of the U.S. Open Squash Championships for 2012 and 2013.

“The success of the Delaware Investments U.S. Open last year has compelled us to continue supporting this truly global event for the next two years,” said Patrick Coyne, president of Delaware Investments.

“Sponsoring the U.S. Open reinforces our commitment to Philadelphia and enables us to be involved in a global sporting event that benefits the city of Philadelphia and local business through national and international exposure.

“Squash embodies the concentration, discipline, preparation and competitive spirit that can be put to work in everyday life.  Like in squash, we understand that success in investing depends on a willingness to work harder than your competitors,” said Mr. Coyne.

Delaware Investments is an asset manager that offers a wide variety of equity and fixed income solutions for individual and institutional investors. It is part of Sydney, Australia-based Macquarie Group, a global provider of banking, financial, investment and funds management services.

Squash is played by 25 million people in 175 countries worldwide.  The U.S. Open is broadcast globally through a combination of 18 major terrestrial, cable and satellite distributors, with dedicated TV coverage that reached 1.2 billion households in 2011.

CEO of U.S. SQUASH, Kevin Klipstein, said he is very appreciative of the continued support of the U.S. Open by Delaware Investments.

“Delaware Investments is a company that has a passion for performance, and we are pleased that they value bringing together elite athletes from around the world to provide players and fans with a truly unique sporting experience,” said Mr. Klipstein.
