U.S. Intercollegiate Doubles Championships Return to U.S. Open Fortnight

The U.S. Intercollegiate Squash Doubles Championships join the Delaware Investments U.S. Open fortnight for the sixth year at Racquet Club of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Cricket Club and Germantown Cricket Club, October 7-9.

There is no entry fee, and all participants receive free General Admission tickets to the U.S. Open, October 8-9.

The thirty-seventh edition of the tournament, the world’s only annual collegiate doubles event, was first played in 1942. The tournament will be again presented by the U.S. Jesters Club.

Last year, Navy’s Bill Kacergis & Senen Ubina won the Naval Academy’s second Butcher-Ball Cup in three years against Rochester. Ubina’s older sister, Maria Elena, won her third consecutive women’s title for Princeton, and second with partner Olivia Fiecther. In the mixed final, The University of Pennsylvania’s George Lemmon & Alaka Alankamony defeated Princeton’s Ubina & Jarryd Osborne to win the Quakers’ third title and first since winning the inaugural 2012 and 2013 titles.
