On Monday, October 12, SquashSmarts will help US Squash present Junior Day at the U.S. Open, which brings together local youth from the Philadelphia area to participate in team building activities, meet-and-greet with top world professionals and then watch the round of 16 matches. Additionally, during Women in Sports Night on Wednesday, October 14, a group of high school-age girls from the SquashSmarts program will participate in a special squash training session with local teaching professionals and U.S. Open competitors.
Founded in 2001, SquashSmarts is a free intensive out-of-school-time program changing the lives of Philadelphia’s public school students. SquashSmarts is a 501(c)3 non-profit academic and athletic mentoring program with a proven track record of keeping kids in school, in shape, and on track for graduation.
