The sixth annual Junior Day, presented by Zarett Rehab and Fitness, will be held October 10 at the Delaware Investments U.S. Open Squash Championships. The special event is supported by U.S. Open partner SquashSmarts, and brings together junior players from around the region, urban squash participants, and the Drexel and Philadelphia communities.
The morning will feature interactive team building sessions featuring Philadlephia-area urban youth—including many SquashSmarts students—to learn more about squash, meet professional squash players competing in the U.S. Open, and watch some of their matches live on the ASB GlassCourt.
Anyone under the age of eighteen receives free entry U.S. Open matches (running from 12:00pm-8:30pm) throughout Junior Day. Those children wishing to attend can simply show up at the on-site ticketing booth to receive their complementary access to all the action!
The evening session of matches will feature a VIP evening for Squashsmarts volunteers and supporters, where the organization will present its annual Service Award.
Last year’s Junior Day activities featured U.S. Squash stars Amanda Sobhy, Todd Harrity and Chris Gordon, joined by 3-time world champion Ramy Ashour of Egypt.
