U.S. SQUASH will officially recognize the recipients of the 2011-2012 Scholar-Athlete Awards during a special presentation at the 2012 Delaware Investments U.S. Open Squash Championships.
The recipients of this year’s Scholar-Athlete Award, an esteemed title which is given to high school student athletes who achieve a Grade Point Average of 3.5 in school and participate in at least four U.S. SQUASH sanctioned events, were officially announced today.
A record 259 Scholar-Athletes who participated in the junior squash season during the 2011-2012 academic year were recognized this year. Students came from public, private and boarding schools.
Fourteen student athletes who graduated from high school this year were recognized as Scholar-Athletes in all four years of their high school education.
All Scholar-Athletes have been invited to attend the 2012 U.S Open on Sunday evening, October 7, in Philadelphia, PA, to be formally acknowledged in a special presentation.
