Courtside Camaraderie: U.S. Open’s Grand Finale Brings Squash Fans Together

Championship Dinner at the 2014 Delaware Investments U.S. Open

Championship Reception at the 2014 Delaware Investments U.S. Open

The 2015 Delaware Investments U.S. Open will culminate with grand finale on Saturday October 17, 2015. The entire day is held in the main arena at the Daskalakis Athletic Center on the campus of Drexel University.

It begins with a special kickoff: the annual induction luncheon for the United States Squash Hall of Fame. Many Hall of Famers, fans, friends and colleagues come to the courtside lunch to honor the inductees in the class of 2015 into the U.S. Squash Hall of Fame. America has a wonderful squash history dating back to the 1880s and the luncheon is a powerful and tangible way to connect to the people who made such a huge impact on that history.

After the luncheon, settle in for the best of the best. It took ninety-six matches stretching out over ten days to determine the two women and two men who get the chance to capture our national championship. The glass court will be aglow with the unparalleled athleticism on display and the sold-out arena will be rocking as we experience the excitement of the U.S. Open.

The newest tradition at the U.S. Open is the Champions Reception. Stay courtside for cocktails and a delicious hors d’oeuvres. Past Open champions—dating back to the founding of the Open in the 1950s—will join the gathering as we honor the 2015 winners. It is the perfect way to see old friends, make new friends and enjoy the camaraderie that is at the heart of the Delaware Investments U.S. Open.
