Team USA’s Chris Gordon will compete as the men’s Wild Card in the 2016 Delaware Investments U.S. Open Championships main draw for the fifth time in his professional career.
The world No. 59 from New York City will be competing in his tenth U.S. Open this October.
“I am really excited to be the wild card again at the U.S. Open,” Gordon said. “I have played some of my best squash on the glass court at Drexel and I am looking forward to the challenge of taking on one of the world’s top players in one of the premier events in the U.S.”
In 2012 Gordon recorded his best U.S. Open finish to date, upsetting Egypt’s then-world No. 15 Hisham Ashour in a thrilling five-game battle to reach the round of sixteen.
Gordon will face one of the world’s top-ranked players in the main draw’s first round, October 8-9.
