Attorney, Educator, Consultant, and Author Kenneth L. Shropshire will present as a part of the inaugural Squash Summit 2015 during the Delaware Investments U.S. Open Squash Championships, October 15-16.

Shropshire, the David W. Hauck Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, is the author of several award-winning books such as The Business of Sports, the Business of Sports Agents, The Sports Franchise Game, In Black and White, Sports and the Law, and Basketball Jones.

Shropshire’s Squash Summit presentation is on the heels of the release of his most recent book, Sport Matters: Leadership, Power, and the Quest for Respect in Sports.

In addition to his roles as an author and educator, Shropshire serves as Special Counsel at the global law firm Duane Morris LLP, working primarily on sports related matters. Shropshire’s consulting roles have included a wide variety of projects including work for the NCAA, National Football League, Major League Baseball and the United States Olympic Committee.

Like the U.S. Open, Shropshire’s work is deeply rooted in Philadelphia. In 2000 the mayor of Philadelphia appointed Shropshire to chair Philadelphia’s stadium site selection committee and later, projects focused on future Philadelphia bids for the Olympic Games. He has also served since 2004 as the Academic Director of Wharton’s Business Management and Entrepreneurship Program for NFL players focusing on their transition away from the game.

Shropshire’s presentation will conclude the Squash Summit’s session on Thursday, October 15, which commences with keynote speaker, United States Olympic Committee Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Baird.
